What do you get when you cross a classic Hatteras motor yacht with a Manhattan restaurant?
Above photos: Interior of Lure Fish Bar on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Note the "teak and holly sole" flooring, porthole window and ship style tables. Generous Bloody Mary is garnished with a jumbo shrimp and is accompanied by an oyster chaser. Mahi mahi fish tacos with fresh greens and vegetables.

This has been a poor mango season compared to last year in our vicinity. On the down side: our Edward mango crop is sparse this year compared to 2009. On the positive side: the Edwards have been just as large and just as flavorful as 2009; which is more than I can say for some of the varieties in the neighborhood. Still to come on are our Julies -- again the same situation as the Edwards: low count but good quality of fruit. When we have abundant years, we really appreciate them; when years are lean we have an inkling of the difficulties that farmers face.

The "Lamburgers" created by Chef Karen Cook on board motor yacht Destiny last week were an amazing taste treat. Tracy and Charles visited Destiny and other charter yachts on display at Bahia Mar as a part of a Florida Yacht Brokers Association open house. All of the boats on display were warm and welcoming and each offered tempting morsels. Karen Cook's Lamburgers were a real stand-out. Although petite in diameter, they almost intimidatingly tall—and the American flags, in honor of Veteran's Day, made them seem to practically tower. Chef Karen encouraged us to gently press the burger (sans flag) down to size and take a bite. And what a bite it was! Hot, juicy, a hint of spicy hot, and a cooling sauce all at once. What a delightful treat. Catch Charles enjoying a bite in this video. You can see how juicy they were.
Susan Harris of IYC was the broker agent who showed us around the beautiful yacht. Captain Barney Heath, First Mate Gregory Cartier and Stewardess Katy Carter were all on hand to show Destiny to its best advantage. Everything sparkled.
You can see Charles enjoying his lamburger in this very short video clip.
