The 12th Annual La Bella Macchina was hosted by Jet Aviation in conjunction with the week-long Cavallino Classic on Thursday, January 19, 2012. The elegant evening of Ferrari autos and business aircraft was held indoors and on the tarmac in West Palm Beach.
The cars and aircraft looked splendid in the glow of dramatic lighting. The weather was cool; but not cold. This allowed guests a wide leeway in choosing their glamorous cocktail attire. Attire ran the gamut from gauzy short dresses to leather and fur coats. The photo above left shows the 1953 Ferrari that won the best in show award for the evening.

The Cavallino Classic weekend
The luxury and tradition of the Bella Macchina that kicks off the Cavallino Classic continued throughout the five-day event. This year the Classic honored the seductive and powerful Aston Martin, with several events: Astons at the Yacht Hop, the Aston Marin Dinner at the Palm Beach Yacht Club, finally culminating with the Aston Martin Assembly at Classic Sports Sunday. In its eleventh year at the beautiful Mar-a-Lago the Classic Sports Sunday displayed 120 classic sporting automobiles. Judges as well as guests were able to examine and vote on their favorite autos from the day. Not to be missed was the Cavallino Classic Historic Competition – always preserving the historic spirit!
