Achieving the "wow factor" means capturing the reader's interest the minute they receive your brochure. A cover design can make the difference between a recipient opening your brochure or ignoring it altogether. A brohcure cover falls into the category of "you only get one chance to make a first impression." When you're working on an effective brochure design, pay attention that the quality, texture, and weight of the cover stock is one of the first things that a reader notices. Here's a recent case study from Laser Advertising.
When newly launched mega yacht Blue Moon needed a custom charter yacht brochure, they came to Laser Advertising with the brief to create piece that would be striking and unforgettable upon first impression, something out of the ordinary. With that in mind we let our creative juices flow and decided that using unusual textures, materials and finishes would provide the “wow factor” that the client was seeking.
The solution: This unusual metallic cover is printed on Reich Shine Pearl Paper and is flooded with a beautiful metallic blue ink, for a shimmering and luminous effect. The minimalist design features the name and logo of the yacht in a dramatic silver foil emboss. The interior covers showcase an exclusive charter destination printed in a single aquamarine metallic, which sets the mood for the first full profile of the yacht and subsequent photographic display. The interior pages show a variety of images of this splendid yacht, accentuated by spot gloss varnishes and metallic inks.
Betty Taylor at MacPapers provided exceptional assistance in the cover paper selection process. She worked with us to identify the paper stock that would provide the striking visual we were seeking. Laser Advertising takes a team approach to design and production issues and calls on the experience and expertise of professionals in the printing industry to make sure that we've considered the best options for each project.
The new Blue Moon brochure has been well received and represents the vision of her owner and captain. The team at Laser Advertising is pleased to have the privilege of working with such a perceptive and detail-oriented client.
