This video of boogie boarders riding the Flo Rider surf simulator on board the Oasis of the Seas was shot on my new Flip HD camera. The pocket size is super convenient but using it is a bit tricky. The camera is not suited for pans or zoom, two workhorse techniques that we depend on to do the heavy-lifting when we shoot stationary subjects. The best use of the camera is to stay very still -- in one place -- and film a moving subject nearby. The guests trying out the Flo Rider is a great use of the camera. Right off the camera, the video was sharp and clear full screen. The groovy little flip-out USB connector means no extra cables to haul around so you can have instant results on your own big screen.
